Each regular is identified primarily by colour, which is how collectors actually call them in conversation — "the green one" long before "Ququ".

Naming — the Chinese names came first and the English ones are simply their doubled final syllable: 眼巴巴 becomes Baba, 羞答答 becomes Dada. Read in Chinese they are little emotional states — 委屈屈 is sulky, 甜丝丝 is sweet — and the English names keep the sound while dropping every bit of that meaning. Recording only the English would throw away what the set is actually about.
